IFFCO announced financial support of Rs one lakh each to the two Saroj brothers of Uttar Pradesh who hit headlines after cracking the prestigious IIT Entrance test.
Announcing this on Saturday Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted” # IFFCO congratulates talented # Brijesh Saroj & #Raju Saroj 4 cracking #IITJEE. Supporting vid reward of 1Lakh each. All d best, study hard.”
In the next tweet IFFCO MD wished them good luck” My Best Wishes to both young boys #RajuSaroj & Brijesh Saroj for their engineering studies in #IIT.”
On Sunday UP CM Akhilesh Yadav lauded brothers Brijesh and Raju Saroj at a function to felicitate them for cracking IIT-JEE. Youngsters play an important role in building and development of the state, the CM said.
Akhilesh also gave Rs 1 lakh and a laptop each to the brothers. The CM said the state would bear all expenses of the Saroj brothers while they pursue engineering from the IIT. The CM also announced that the UP government has adopted their native village, Rehua in Pratapgarh, and will develop it as Ram Manohar Lohia model village.
The boys are dalits and have suffered at the hands of some upper caste men as reported widely in the media. Several cooperators, Indian Cooperative talked to appreciated IFFCO’s initiative in the matter. “It is upholding the highest tradition of cooperative”, quipped one to this correspondent.
