The 54th Annual Seminar of the Fertilizer Association of India which was kicked off on Wednesday at Hotel Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi also distributed a number of awards both in individual and corporate categories.
The awards were given by Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Sadananad Gowda and Union State Minister Mr Rao Inderjeet Singh. Secretaries of Agriculture and Chemicals & Fertilizers were also present.
In the award distribution the two cooperatives involved in fertilizer production and marketing- IFFCO and Kribhco did quite well. IFFCO Phulpur was adjudged the best performing urea plant in the country. Again Environment Protection Award in nitrogenous plant was bagged by IFFCO Phulpur, IFFCO Kalol was declared runner up. IFFCO Kalol was also declared a runner up in Excellence Award in safety.
IFFCO Delhi also bagged award in the category of Transfer of Improved Farm Technology. IFFCO Delhi also won
Kribhco got the national award for producing best video film. Its Marketing Director D S Sirohi received the award from the Union Minister. Kribhco’s Sahajahanpur Plant aslo bagged runner up prize in the category of Tech Innovation.
Also, A K Das of Kribhco Surat bagged second prize for his article.
The two big awards known as Dr U S Awasthi Life-time Achievement Awards of Rs 2.5 million each in the field of agriculture development and agriculture research and secondly development of fertilizer industry were bagged by Jagdish Chand Katiyal and H S Bawa respectively. The duo thanked IFFCO and the FAI for the award.
