Shish Pal, the well-known cooperator from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh has decided to opt out of race from the elections currently underway at IFFCO. He has not filed nomination this time round, confirmed Shish Pal himself to Indian Cooperative.
“I have been on the IFFCO Board for five terms which count 21 years. I had a long innings and I felt that I should vacate the place now for newcomers”, said Shish Pal scotching rumors doing the rounds in the wake of his decision not to contest. ‘We should give opportunities to others”, was what he said.
Shish Pal also said in the same breath that he is not retiring. I am very much active as a cooperator wherever I am, said Shish Pal who represents a strong sugar co-op lobby of Uttar Pradesh.
When Indian Cooperative showed to be skeptical about the reasons for his not contesting the election, Shish Pal laughed and said “you will find me again in the next board; I have just taken a temporary vacation”. I am an RGB member for this term, he stated.
As things stand, it is obvious that at least three Directors of the outgoing Board are not in race. They are Trimbakrao G. Sirsath, who failed to win the RGB elections, Ramakant Bharagava who is busy fighting Vidisha parliamentary seat as the candidate BJP and Hapur strongman Shish Pal.
