IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani is scheduled to meet with media persons today, Thursday, at the IFFCO headquarters in Delhi. Sanghani is expected to discuss the upcoming ICA General Body meeting and the Global Cooperative Conference, both of which are being hosted by IFFCO.
In a media invite, IFFCO writes: “On behalf of IFFCO, we cordially invite you to a Select Press Briefing – Discussion on the Cooperative Sector and the International Cooperative Alliance on Thursday, 19th September 2024, at IFFCO Sadan, Saket, New Delhi, at 11:15 AM. Shri Dileep Sanghani, Chairman, IFFCO, will address the press briefing,” the release stated.
It is important to recall that huge preparations are underway for the International Cooperative Alliance’s (ICA) 2024 General Assembly and the Global Cooperative Conference, which will take place in New Delhi, marking a historic first for India.
The event will be held from November 25th to November 30th at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, and will bring together representatives from over 100 countries.
ICA, a global body that oversees the cooperative movement, has chosen India not only due to its significant cooperative history but also because of its leadership in the sector. India is home to one-fourth of the world’s cooperatives, both in terms of numbers and membership.
The event is expected to host over 1,500 distinguished guests, including international dignitaries such as the Prime Minister of Bhutan, the President of UN ECOSOC, and ICA members.
India’s hosting of the 2024 ICA General Assembly underscores the country’s growing influence in the cooperative movement as it steps onto the global stage to share its success story with an international audience.
