While replying to a query raised by a Lok Sabha member, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Bhagwanth Khuba said, “The fertilizer cooperative IFFCO and Coromandel International Limited (CIL) will manufacture Nano DAP for a period of three years”.
“Preliminary field trials were conducted by IFFCO and CIL on selected crops in selected ICAR Institutes. The report has indicated that with the use of Nano DAP as seed treatment and foliar application, there is a possibility of saving of granular DAP conventionally applied”, he added in his reply.
Khuba further added, “IFFCO has informed that they are setting up a Nano DAP Plant at its Kalol Unit with production capacity of 2 Lakh bottles of 500 ml per day. The Nano DAP will be available in the market across the country after commencement of commercial production”, his reply concludes.
