Bhima Subrahmanyam, Managing Director of National Federation of State Cooperative Banks( NAFSCOB) is declared re-elected as President , International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA) of ICA for a term of 4 years in the General Assembly held on 11-10-2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The International Cooperative Bank Association (ICBA) celebrated, in 2022, its 100th anniversary. The board comprises 8 persons from all ICA regions.
The apex body of State Cooperative Banks- Nafscob Managing Director Bhima Subrahmanyan was re-elected as the President of International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA). Bhima was re-elected for a term of 4 years in the General Assembly held on 11-10-2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Earlier, in 2019 in Rwanda, Bhima had first been elected as ICBA’s President. ICBA was established in 1922 with a membership of 7 European consumer cooperative banks. In 1964, the membership was opened to all cooperative banks and central cooperative credit organizations directly or indirectly affiliated to International Co-operative Alliance (ICA), of which it is a specialized body.
ICBA’s aim is to exchange information, promote cooperation among cooperative banks, advise and assist the development of new cooperative banks, carry out studies and research on subjects of common interest and several other things.
