A big cooperative scam has broken in Madhya Pradesh. Scores of housing cooperative societies are stuck in the serbonian bog of mismanagement and crimes of fraud.
To be exact, 5000 thousand housing cooperative societies are facing serious accusations and the state govt is likely to dissolve at least 1000 of them soon. Most of these housing societies have sold the land meant for members to builders and thus collected a mint.
Sources say, the govt. is drawing a list of societies past repair and all such societies would be dissolved. Sources add there are hundreds of cooperative societies in Bhopal and Indore alone that are ripe for dissolution because they do not even have land to give to their members.
Earlier, the state govt had taken a decision on dissolving the erring ” Rohit Griha Nirman Sahkari Samiti ” The cooperative dept of the state govt is currently busy collecting details of gross mismanagement and criminal frauds being committed in the name of housing societies in the state.
An official from the state govt is quoted as saying all those responsible for the crimes would be brought to justice. All members who have paid money would get back their amount with interest, said the official.
