Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur has said to the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and told him that potential entrepreneurs are suffering as cooperative banks have not been made member lending institutions, reports The Tribune.
Thakur who met Jaitley on Thursday said that under the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) and the Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), co-op banks do not figure leading disappointment among entrepreneurs.
Thakur sought personal intervention of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to ensure hassle-free credit facility under various Central schemes through cooperative banks.
This would not only help cooperative banks in expanding their credit portfolios, but also generate employment as well as growth, a release said.
