A special audit by Co-operative Department has brought the curtain down on scores of co-operative societies in Himachal Pradesh, reports Pioneer.
Karan Singh, Minister Co-operation, Himachal Pradesh told the State Assembly that these co-operative societies were bogus and indulging in violation of the elementary cooperative norms.
The minister said 311 co-operative societies had been identified as societies guilty of disobeying the rules.
He said that all these 311 co-operative societies had been declared defaulters. However, the opposition BJP has slammed the state govt for overlooking the affairs of co-operative societies.
