Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur has urged cooperative banks to help independent power producers with easy loans, reports Tribune.
The chief minister said the state cooperative bank was providing loans to the power producers at 10.50 percent, which was earlier 13.75 percent.
Thakur wanted the government loan term should be raised from the existing 30 years to 40 years.
He also wanted independent power producers. demand for one-time settlement or outright sale be favorably considered.
Thakur was chairing a meeting in Shimla on the hydropower projects.
