New Indian Express reports the Odisha State Cooperative Bank has given Rs 2,649 crore as credit assistance to farmers for restarting their agricultural operations.
Earlier, Odisha Government had announced credit assistance of Rs 9,000 crore as crop loans during kharif to farmers affected by the Covid-19 situation.
Sources say 1771 tonne of moong and groundnuts worth Rs 10.49 crore have been procured from the farmers under the price support system. Over 15,900 farmers are likely to avail the scheme.
