Haryana Co-op scam: District Registrar & Asst Registrar nailed

Fresh details in the Rs 100 crore Cooperative Department scam in Haryana reveal officials exchanging bank account details over WhatsApp with contractor Stalian Jeet to route bribes worth lakhs. Jeet, the director of multiple firms, allegedly facilitated payments to secure government contracts, reports the Tribune.

The Cooperation Department has suspended all officials implicated in the 10 FIRs filed so far, initiating dismissal proceedings for three under Article 311 (2)(b). Key players include Rohit Gupta, then District Registrar Cooperative Societies, Karnal, who reportedly received Rs 11 lakh, and ARCS Anu Kaushish, accused of mediating bribes for personal benefits.

FIRs detail widespread corruption, including Rs 16.78 lakh bribes to Panipat’s ICDP GM and Rs 55.30 lakh kickbacks in Rewari. Investigations cite evidence like WhatsApp chats and handwritten payment records.
