The Crime Branch has lodged a case against Saraspur Cooperative Bank Limited employees Viral Brahmbhatt and Namrata Patel for allegedly defrauding the bank of Rs 3.04 crore, reports Desh Gujarat.
According to the complaint by the bank’s GM Darshak Patel, Brahmbhatt opened and manipulated fixed deposit overdraft accounts under his father and wife’s names, improperly withdrawing funds.
It is suspected that Brahmbhatt, possibly aided by Namrata, also misused other depositors’ funds as collateral to increase overdraft limits unlawfully.
