The Gujarat government is expanding its ‘Cooperation Among Cooperatives’ initiative to all 33 districts after a successful pilot in Banaskantha and Panchmahal.
This program aims to unify cooperative societies’ bank accounts under District and State Cooperative Banks, enhancing financial stability and loan availability.
The pilot consolidated 1,048 Milk Societies’ accounts into District Cooperative Banks, resulting in Rs 966 crore in new deposits and the issuance of 3.32 lakh RuPay debit cards.
The initiative also introduced micro-ATMs and trained 1,631 cooperative employees in digital transactions.
