Indian Express reports Banas Dairy a leading milk cooperative union in Gujarat will drop seed bombs on the mountain ranges close to the Ambaji temple in Banaskantha district, where the lack of green cover of over 578 hectares poses an environmental problem.
The Banas Dairy has prepared 50 lakh seed bombs for the purpose, claimed Shankar Chaudhary, chairman of the milk cooperative.
It is said nearly 1,000 people will manually climb and spread out in the mountains, to drop the seed bombs.
According to Chaudhary, the idea behind the plantation of trees is to attract rain.
