Co-operative Marketing Federation of Karnataka would like the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers to free primary credit cooperative societies (PACCS) in the State from the obligation to keep agri-science graduates or diploma holders for selling fertilizers, reports Hindu.
Federation president M.N. Rajendra Kumar recently met Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda in Bengaluru and submitted a memorandum to him in this regard.
In July, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare had issued a circular spelling out the obligation. Rajendra Kumar added that this would only make the sale of fertilizers problematic in the state.
The union minister assured that he would discuss the matter.
