Both central and state govts lay down new policies and extend financial help to the farmers.
Maharashtra govt, for example, has decided to offer the farmers loan waivers. This is being done under the Kiasan Karj Mukti Yojna.
Earlier, the Maharashtra government had also waived loans by depositing around Rs 5500 crores in the bank accounts of 10, 40,935 farmers through district cooperative banks.
