Talking to journalists Nabard chairman G.N.Chintala said the central govt would double down on efforts so as to improve agriculture infrastructure in the country.
As per the new budget, the central govt will allocate Rs 40 thousand crore for the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund and Rs 15 lakh crore for agriculture credit.
Nabard is also taking steps in order to help cooperative bodies realize their potential like computerizing PACS and transforming them into multi-service centres.
Chintala said this to newsmen after his inaugural speech at the 80th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Agricultural Economics at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.
