Godavari Urban Multistate Credit Co-operative Chairperson Rajashri Hemant Patil filed the nomination papers for contesting the Lok Sabha election from Yavatmal-Washim constituency on Thursday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
She is contesting the election on the Shiv Sena ticket. This time the party has not given a ticket to the sitting MP Bhavana Gawli from Yavatmal-Washim constituency.
Ms. Patil is the wife of Hingoli sitting MP Hemant Patil, who is also not contesting the Lok Sabha election this time and the party led by the Maharashtra CM fielded Baburao Kadam-Kohlikar from Hingoli constituency.
The Godavari Urban Multistate credit co-op Chairperson will fight against Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Deshmukh in Yavatmal-Washim, while Kohlikar will face off against Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, also from the rival Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray.
