Nashik based Godavari Urban Cooperative Bank has contributed Rs 3 lakh towards the CM and PM relief fund in order to help the government in fighting the coronavirus.
In a telephonic chat with Indian Cooperative the bank’s Chairperson Amruta Vasantrao Pawar said, the Bank has donated 1.5 lakh each to the Chief Minister Relief Fund and the PM Cares Fund. Though we are ready to contribute more, the RBI norms barred us from doing so”, she added.
Besides, the bank is also active in taking safety measures and reducing the timing as well as the staff at the branches and corporate offices. Through an NGO, we are providing the vegetables at the consumers’ doorstep, she underlined.
However, she was worried that due to the coronavirus, the bank’s balance sheet will be adversely affected.
