A chartered accountant will probe into the alleged irregularities in Goa Dairy and submit a report soon to the Goa government, reports The Navhind Times.
The government recently ordered the probe when Goa Dairy chairman Madhav Sahakari ordered suspension of dairy’s MD Dr Navso Sawant over the charges of corruption.
Registrar of Co-operative Societies issued an order asking the chartered accountant to investigate into the Goa Dairy affairs. Official sources say the probe would be held under Section 77 of the Goa Co-operative Societies Act.
Dr Sawant is alleged to have embezzled over Rs 8 crore in his six-year-long tenure. However, Sawant claims that he has not received any suspension order and that he is being framed.
