In the current situation, not only big cooperative institutions but also small ones are offering relief to their borrowers.
Karnataka based Gnana Shale Souharda Co-operative Limited has given relief to its borrowers as well as Women Self Help Groups associated with them.
In a telephonic communication with Indian Cooperative, the Society Chairman Sridhar Neelkant Rao said, ”Our society has given the three month moratorium to our borrowers and deferred the interest till 30th June. Over 18,000 women self groups are associated with the society”.
“The society has disbursed over Rs 25 crore to the 18k women self groups and lent around Rs 50 crore to the individual borrowers. Besides, the society is also providing the essential items to the needy in collaboration with RSS”, he informed.
The society has a business turnover of Rs 175 crore. The society has more than 4,000 shareholders.
