Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot recently said India govt should stop multi-state credit cooperatives from defrauding the general public of their hard-earned money.
Speaking in a review meeting of the cooperative dept, Gehlot instructed his state officials to send a detailed report of these cooperatives’ illegal activities to the center.
It is worth mentioning that the Rajasthan govt. has received 94,164 complaints against such societies including 31,000 complaints against the Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society and over 41,000 complaints against the Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society.
Rajasthan has 50 such multi-cooperative credit societies, of which 12 societies are under liquidation, while the remaining 38 are being inspected under the direction of the vigilance authority, the chief minister said.
