Indian dairy giant Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), is set to go digital in a big way. The cooperative that sells its milk products under Amul brand has nailed down a deal with technology firm Infibeam Inc to develop e-commerce and mobile platforms for the products.
According to sources, the company’s e-commerce platform is expected go operational in the next few months.
GCMMF MD R.S.Sodhi has said Amul products including fresh milk, curd, butter, cheese etc. will be sold through e-commerce platform and delivered at customers’ door step. .
The company has decided to begin using digitalization from Ahmedabad and later on in other cities. .
The Gujarat dairy cooperative is making substantial investment in increasing its production capacity to net in revenues of Rs 300 billion by the fiscal 2017-18.
