BJP politician and Chairman of Panchmahal Dairy Jetha Bharwad has unanimously been elected as the first vice-chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that owns popular dairy brand ‘Amul’.
This is for the first time that the GCMMF has created the post of vice-chairman by amending its by-laws.
Jetha Bharwad MLA from Sehra constituency of Panchmahal district has become first vice chairman of the country’s leading dairy cooperative institution.
The GCMMF is India’s largest food products marketing organization with an annual turnover of Rs 21,000 crore.
The member unions of the GCMMF procure an average of 16 million litres of milk everyday from 3.6 million milk producers in 18,000 villages of Gujarat.
