According to the DeshGujarat reports, Gujarat’s agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry sectors making rapid progress with the help of natural farming and the latest technology have catapulted the state into prominence as a leader in milk production.
The milk industry in Gujarat has exceeded one lakh crore, with Rs 200 crore being paid daily to 36 lakh milk producers through the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF).
Amul, the country’s leading dairy brand, exemplifies the diligence and hard work of millions of Animal husbandry farmers in Gujarat. The report talks of one Jayesh Shambhu Patel from Zarola village in Anand’s Borsad taluka who maintains a pack of 10 to 12 cows on his 1.5 acre of land. He supplies his milk to Amul which gets him a monthly income of one and a half lakh rupees.
