Speaking on the occasion of the mega co-operative conference in which Amit Shah was the Chief Guest, Amul Chairman Shyamalbhai Patel said “I thank on behalf of lacs of farmers associated with Amul, the Prime Minister for forming a separate co-op ministry and appointing Amitbhai Shah as its minister.
GCMMF Chairman also traced the history of the growth of Amul and narrated how a few dairy farmers from a village are ruling the dairy scene not only in India but also in the world.
Patel said that Amul today produces 21% of dairy of the global output. “We are number one in the world”, he claimed.
The GCMMF Chairman also said that Amul has been active in adopting new technology and its success is partly due to the fact that a strong tech team is actively monitoring the latest development in the field.
Lauding the Amul model for its farmer-friendly approach, Shyamalbhai said today of every rupee that we earn, 80 paise is paid back to farmers. Later, Amit Shah also spoke at length on the success story of Amul.
