Tribune reports four former directors of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank (KCCB) were arrested by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau after their bail application was rejected by the High Court.
The accused as the members of the loan sanctioning committee of the bank had violated norms while sanctioning loan to the Crest Steel company. The loan involving Rs 65 crore became bad debt for the bank.
It is worth recalling that while in opposition the BJP had filed a charge sheet alleging corruption in sanctioning loans by the KCCB.
