Former NCCT Secretary Paramjyothi passes away

 

 

Dr T Paramjyothi, a well-known academician and scholar in Cooperative studies passed away Sunday evening due to a massive cardiac arrest.

His sudden and unexpected demise has shocked those close to him. At the time of his demise, he was acting as the Director of ACCSTI in Thiruvanantpuram.

Paramjyothi had acquired MA (Co-operation), M.Phil in Applied Economics (C.D.S Thiruvananthapuram), PhD (University of Calicut) and FDP IIM Ahmadabad.

A former Secretary of NCCT, he had 35 years of experience in teaching, training and administration. His areas of interest were Co-operative Credit, Co-operative law, Rural Development and Management.

Paramjyothi was also the Vice Chairman of the ICA-Asia Pacific Research Committee and also a member of the Indian Society For Studies In Cooperation, Pune and Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR). He has to his credit a number of books and articles published in the field of Co-operation.

Paramjyothi’s name cropped up in the Lecturer scam that had hit the headlines in the past. Many of his friends still maintain that the poor Paramjyothi was deliberately enmeshed into controversy for no fault of his.
