A Special Court, in Delhi has punished six accused including then Registrar of Cooperative Societies for their involvement in an illegal revival of a cooperative group housing society, reports Business Standard.
The then Registrar of Cooperative Societies Narayan Diwakar [IAS] retired has been given five years of RI with fine of Rs Five lakh. The detailed enquiry showed that the accused had entered into a criminal conspiracy getting the said society revived and illegally acquiring a land allotted by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at the concessional rate.
One of the accused Gokul Chand Agrawal has been sentenced for seven years RI and fine of Rs. 2.5 lakh. The court case was based on cooperative officials finding a Service Officers CGHS registered in 1973 violating the rules and regulations.
