The Hindu reports the apex body of fisheries’ cooperatives in Kerala Matsyafed keeps all its outlets open with a view ensuring availability of food items throughout the state during the lockdown to prevent the spread of the corona pandemic.
Official sources are quoted saying the cooperative operates 41 outlets and five mobile shops but there has been a drop in its sales.
Sources add the drop in its sales was due to the sharp fall in the number of customers visiting the counters as well as the reduced availability of fish.
