EoW of the Mumbai Police has opposed the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) intervening in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) fraud case arguing it had no locus standi, reports Indian Express.
However, the ED seeks to intervene saying it will look into the money laundering dimension of the scam which EOW has bypassed. It is significant that the EOW’s closure report in the case has given a clean chit to all the accused including deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.
The ED also insists on being heard as it is a matter of public interest.
