Media reports suggest efforts are afoot to shield a BJP cooperator in Rajasthan by the state government. The home department in Rajasthan has taken action against a police official in Bhilwara for registering an FIR against him in a forgery case of a cooperative bank, says a report by TOI.
The citizens and NGOs have called for a fair enquiry in the case, the report adds.
According to official sources, the police had registered a case against the president of Bhilwara Urban Cooperative Bank, Kirti Bordiya and her husband and also against 11 persons in a forgery case of Rs 75 lakh. Kirti is a BJP leader and contested elections of municipality on the ticket of BJP.
Police investigation had found preliminary evidence of forgery, sources add. Sources say BJP leaders had approached the state home minister to remove the police official from investigation.
