The Enforcement Directorate seized around Rs 3 crore in cash from a Calcutta-based cooperative society and the Sahara group during a money laundering probe involving Rs 24,000 crore in investor funds, media reports say.
Raids were conducted at Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. locations in Calcutta, Lucknow, and Mumbai. Incriminating documents, digital devices, and Rs 2.98 crore in cash were seized.
The investigation is linked to FIRs from Odisha, Bihar, and Rajasthan against Sahara entities for not refunding investors’ maturity amounts.
