Laser focused on tackling farm distress and achieving the aim of doubling farmers’ income by 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a national conference on 19-20 February to discuss short and long term solutions to the problems facing agriculture, reports Press Trust of India.
Prime Minister Modi will attend the conference to be organized by Union Agriculture Ministry in Delhi.
Agriculture Minister, senior officials of Niti Aayog, farm price advisory body CACP, state varsities, farmers and farmers’ bodies will take part in the meeting.
Official sources say farm experts and officials will discuss issues confronting farmers as well as agriculture and later submit their recommendations to the prime minister.
