The Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested a father-son duo, Yashwant Kulkarni (55) and Vaibhav Kulkarni (24), for their alleged involvement in a Rs 3,515 crore fraud linked to the Dnyanradha Multistate Co-operative Credit Society in Beed, Maharashtra.
Acting on a tip, the police nabbed them at a Wakad mall.
The accused, wanted in 42 cases, reportedly defrauded 4.5 lakh depositors from 52 branches. Both were handed over to Beed police for further investigation.
