Directors of Dnyanradha Credit Co-op get relief from Court

On Saturday, a court in Beed, Maharashtra, declared the arrests of Dnyanradha Cooperative Multi-State Credit Society’s directors, Suresh Kute and Ashish Patodekar, as unlawful, media reports say.

They were apprehended in Hinjawadi near Pune on June 7 for allegedly defrauding depositors and remained in police custody until June 13.

The court ordered their immediate release unless required for other criminal matters. Advocates argued the arrests breached Supreme Court guidelines by not specifying arrest reasons, thus violating the directors’ constitutional rights.
