A five member delegation from Karmath Saving & Credit Cooperative Ltd Thamel, Kathmandu of Nepal visited India recently to gain experience from the Indian Cooperative movement.
The Nepalese delegation visited National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) on the proposal of National Cooperative Bank Ltd. (NBCL), Nepal.
The delegates were welcomed by Chief Executive, NCUI N. Satya Narayana who shared important details about the successful functioning of credit cooperatives in India. On this occasion, Arun Singh Tomar, an eminent cooperator form Madhya Pradesh met the delegates and invited them to visit the successful Cooperatives of Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier, Dr. K. N. Sinha, Executive Director and Mr. Ritesh Dey, Director, International Relations Division of NCUI briefed them about the Indian Cooperative Movement, the structure & functions of NCUI as well as cooperative credit structure of India with a focus on Urban Credit.
All delegates highly appreciated the role of NCUI to strengthen the relations between Nepal and India in terms of experience and knowledge sharing for mutual development in the cooperative sector.
Anant Dubey, Assistant Director and other colleagues of International Relations Division coordinated the visit of the delegation from Nepal.
