“As per the data entered by the State in the National Cooperative Database (as on 06.12.2023), there are 51,702 cooperative societies in Madhya Pradesh”, said Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
In addition, there are 29 Multi state cooperatives from the State of Madhya Pradesh.
“Further, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory corporation under administrative control of the Ministry of Cooperation, provides financial assistance to promote, strengthen and develop farmer cooperatives across the country. NCDC implements various schemes to make cooperatives self-reliant”, his reply reads.
He further stated, the Ministry of Cooperation has taken various other initiatives which aim at providing cooperatives with requisite forward and backward linkages to market agri produce, obtain credit and other services at the Panchayat/ village level itself, generate multiple and stable revenue streams for them, thus making them self-reliant.
