After being in news for all the wrong reasons, Sudha, dairy cooperative product from Bihar has once again bounced back with promising future plans. The Bihar State Milk Co-Operative Federation (COMFED), that markets dairy products under the brand name Sudha intends expanding its business into the international market in the next days.
The possible international locations include Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Sudha a symbol for Bihar has lately acquired a considerable presence in the domestic dairy market and therefore it is logical for it to embark on business expansion abroad.
According to the Comfed sources, the cooperative is intent on international expansion as it would sell tetra pack dairy products. The tetra pack is a packaging system that greatly adds to the shelf life of milk and milk products. The dairy cooperative has recently set up a tetra pack producing unit in Nalanda, said the Comfed sources.
The Comfed is planning to invest about Rs.700 crore on its business expansion in the next years. The dairy company presently collects 20 lakh litres of milk a day and hoping to spike it to 44 lakh litres in future.
