The fact that things are not okay with the apex body of Labour co-ops (NLCF) in the country became obvious with the news of one of its prominent Directors offering his resignation.
Soon after being elected to the NLCF Board, a known face in the cooperative circles Ashok Dabas gave his resignation letter to the Chairman. The resignation has not yet been accepted, adds a source.
The NCLF board has to take a call on his resignation which is likely to meet sometime in September.
Dabas confirmed the news of his resignation but said nothing about why he had resigned asking this correspondent to ‘wait and watch’. I will respond to your queries soon, Dabas said.
While insiders say that Dabas resigned as- being a senior member, he expected to be given the top post when Kushalkar himself was not in the race, Dabas, however, vehemently denies this and says he never angled for the top post.
But he fails to give a satisfactory reply as to why did he resign if he is not in the camp opposed to Kushalkar.
Meanwhile, whispers are being overheard that someone powerful is behind Nair. “He hired an expensive counsel in the High Court which he on his own cannot afford”, some say.
