Launching a campaign to create awareness about the state government’s policies and schemes for the farmers’ welfare in Cuttack, Odisha Cooperation Minister Surya Narayan Patro said the role of the cooperative sector is vital in ensuring agricultural development and farmers’ welfare in the state, reports Indian Express.
The district wide campaign – ‘Cooperative at your Doorstep’ is organized by Cuttack Central Co-operative Bank.
The campaign, which will last almost a month is intended to help farmers avail crop loans at a negligible interest.
A source is quoted saying in former days Cuttack Central Cooperative Bank (CCCB) had been serving farmers in undivided Cuttack through its 468 Cooperative Service Societies.
