CCIW has taken three persons into custody for their involvement in swindling of funds from an agriculture credit cooperative society in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu, reports Hindu.
The accused were arrested based on the complaint from the secretary of the Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Society (Bank) at Devarayanpettai in Papanasam taluk. The amount defrauded was Rs 24 lakh.
Sources say a scam involving Rs. 26 lakh had rocked the society in the past as well.
