CRCS extends deadline to align with new Act till 30th Sept

On the request of some multi-state cooperative societies, the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies has extended the time period for carrying out new amendments as per the amended Act & Rules 2023 by all the MSCSs till 30th September 2024.

In this connection the official circular was released with a subject, “Extension in the time period for carrying out new amendments as per the MSCS (Amendment) Act & Rules, 2023.

It reads, “To facilitate the process of amendment of bye-laws for MSCSs, three templates of bye- laws for different types of MSCSs, namely Credit (including multi-purpose having credit & thrift activity), Non-Credit, and Federal Multi-State Cooperative Societies were also circulated to serve as reference points”.

“In the meantime, several requests have been received from some MSCSs to give an extension in time period for carrying out new amendments as per the amended Act & Rules 2023”, it further added.

According to the circular, “In view of above, it has been decided to extend the time period for carrying out new amendments as per the amended Act & Rules 2023 by all the MSCSs till 30.09.2024”.

“In case of any conflict, the provisions of MSCS Act and Rules shall prevail over the bye-laws”, it reads. This is issued with the approval of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
