The fertilizer cooperative IFFCO paid glowing tributes to Kamal Verma who was Senior Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) and Head-CR in IFFCO. Verma passed away at 67 due to the Covid-19 complications on Monday morning.
The news of Verma’s death cast a gloom not only over the IFFCO family but also over those who knew him. Mild-mannered Verma was a thorough professional who was a constant source of strength for IFFCO in general and its MD Dr U S Awasthi in particular.
It was only recently when Dr Awasthi introduced this correspondent to Verma who showed the war room manned by a network of professionals keeping an eagle eye on the fluctuating exchange rates across the globe.
Working in real-time, it was due to Verma that IFFCO’s accounts could be seen transparently by anyone in the sheets from this war room on a daily basis.
IFFCO organized a virtual prayer meeting on Tuesday where from its Chairman B S Nakai to Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi to Joint MD Rakesh Kapur to Director (HR & Legal) R P Singh to Marketing Head Yogendra Kumar and others paid homage to the departed soul.
In his message, the IFFCO MD wrote, ” It’s a time of grief for all of us at IFFCO as we lost one of the finest professionals & a fine Human being in Sh. Kamal VermaJi. It’s a huge loss to all of us at IFFCO”.
All India IFFCO Officers Association led by Jitendra Tiwari and Employees Union also paid their homage to Late Verma.
Verma joined IFFCO in 1978 and had about 37 years of experience in the field of Finance & Accounts.
