Urban Cooperative Banks in Pune have donated a sum of Rs 1,57,32,000/- towards the Chief Minister Relief fund. The Cheques was handed over to the commissioner for cooperatives Anil Kawade last week.
The news was shared by Subhash Mohite, Chairman of Pune District Urban Cooperative Banks Association with India Cooperative through WhatsApp.
He wrote, “The urban cooperative banks in Pune district have donated the amount of Rs 1,57,32,000/- to the chief minister’s relief fund. The cheque was handed over to the honorable commissioner for cooperation Anil Kawade by advocate Subhash Mohite, Chairman, Pune District UCBs Association. Several other bank Chairmen were also present on the occasion “, he added.
His message further reads, ” Apart from this cash donation the urban cooperative banks in Pune district have also made some help to the needy people by donating food grains medicines, masks. The Commissioner for Cooperation has given thanks to all the urban cooperative banks in Pune district and said that it is an example for other institutions to follow “, he underlined.
Earlier, the Pune district urban cooperative banks Association called a meeting of all the Chairmen of its member banks in Pune district where it had decided to collect minimum one crore for donation towards the Chief Minister Relief fund of Maharashtra.
It bears recall that earlier the association had donated 200 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to Sassoon Hospital to help doctors fight against Covid-19.
There are 52 UCBs in Pune.
