The Bombay high court has not taken kindly to a Maharashtra minister saying he will not be available to hear an appeal filed by a cooperative society, reports Asian Age.
The appeal- which had been filed before the appellate authority (minister)- had challenged the supersession of the society’s managing committee and appointment of administrative officer in its place to manage the affairs.
“We do not countenance such state of affairs. Even if the appellate authority is a minister of state in the government of Maharashtra, it does not mean that urgent matters are kept on hold for his or her nonavailability,” said the court.
