Cosmos Bank: Adv Kokare elected Chairman; CA Kasar Vice Chairman

Senior Director Adv. Pralhad Kokare has been elected as the Chairman, while CA Yashwant Kasar has been elected as the Vice Chairman of Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd. The appointments were finalized on Thursday, December 26, 2024, during the Board Meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors, in the presence of Assistant Returning Officer Mr. Sanjay Raut, reads a press release sent by the Cosmos Bank.

Both leaders were elected unanimously. The uncontested elections for the Board of Directors of Cosmos Bank, covering the term 2025–2029, were held recently.

Adv. Kokare has been associated with the Cosmos Bank Board of Directors for over 20 years. A seasoned administrator, he retired as Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies from the State Government. Adv. Kokare previously served as the Bank’s Vice Chairman during 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 and has been leading the Bank as Chairman since November 2024. Over the past two decades, he has actively contributed to various committees within the Bank, showcasing his expertise and dedication.

CA Yashwant Kasar brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to the role of Vice Chairman. A Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, he also holds certifications as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (DISA), Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), and Project Management Professional (PMP). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Association of International Accountants, London.

Currently serving as the Regional Council Member of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (2019–2025), CA Kasar is an authority in Tax Laws and Finance. He has been a Director of Cosmos Bank since 2019 and also serves as the Secretary of Chartered Accountants in Co-operative Banks (CA-COB).

With their extensive experience and leadership, Adv. Kokare and CA Kasar are expected to guide Cosmos Bank to new heights in the upcoming term.
