Cooperative leaders have hailed the International Women’s Day falling March 8 and have vowed to increase their participation in the cooperative affairs of the land.
Writing for the Indian Cooperative on this special day the Regional Director of ICA Asia-Pacific Balu Iyer says” ICA took 114 years to elect its first woman President, Pauline Green and just a day to elect its second woman President, Monique Leroux.”
IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi a great votary of women participation in cooperatives tweeted “#IFFCO extend greetings & best wishes to all women on International Women’s Day. We salute their contributions in building the society.”
In the next tweet he remembers their contributions by tweeting” Let us not forget d contribution of our #Farmer #Women who dedicates & manages entire day in fields & participate in ensuring #food security”.
Talking on phone NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh told Indian Cooperative” it is a must that women participate in a larger number in the cooperative affairs for the movement to be successful.” Chandra Pal vowed to work towards making them more and more aware on their cooperative rights.

Google also came up with a unique concept for a campaign to spread awareness about empowerment of the women of future and the importance of education in their lives.
The campaign known as #OneDayIWill is promoted by a video, which was produced after meeting 337 women from 13 different countries across the world.
