A consumer forum has ordered a cooperative firm, the executive officer of the marketing federation, the textile department of the state government and the Hind Sahakari Grih Nirman Sanstha, Nashik – should either jointly or individually repay the entire amount of Rs 2.95 lakh to the complainant, who had taken a loan of Rs 3.95 lakh from the department for construction of a row house that was not handed over to him.
The forum has also asked them to pay interest as well as compensation for the complainant’s mental and physical harassment, reports Times of India.
The cooperative firm, failed to construct the row house even after several years, after which the complainant started demanding his money back, but to no avail. Meanwhile, the department continued to draw installments from his salary.
The complainant then resigned from the membership of the firm and demanded all his money back.
